I couldn't wait until I was able to wear black as a little girl. I was determined to find a way to do this without my mother's ok but I was afraid I would get punished if I got caught. So I listened to her. She had such rules. That was a long time ago. Why weren't children supposed to wear black? If my mom had resisted her will I would have worn black clothes and adorned them with bright colors.  The older I got the more determined I was to be myself. I love the powerful backdrop of black. Come to think about it I wasn't allowed to wear white until after Memorial Day and I still do that. I am determined to work on this little hang up. What silly rules were you determined to break  as you got older?
