It all started when I was five years old and my Daddy picked me up to view the nest in our young tree. There in living color were a robin’s eggs…..a luscious shade of cyan blue. That is when I fell in love with colors.
The simple definition of color: "the quality of an object or substance with respect to light reflected by the object”. My subject matter is the power of color. Color is fundamental to our experience of the world around us.
I enjoy watching paint move on its own and take on its own energy. My work attempts to allow the paint to do just that by initially being poured or splashed, or swiped with a brush. The dance is created by using experimental methods of application that demand spontaneity in gesture that are then refined or edited by not only my knowledge of technique and color, but with my personal energy. I invite you, the viewer, to enter my world and experience your personal interpretations of what is on the canvas.
